Santa Fe Window with Ristra
This second study of this lovely building focuses on the “ristra”. These intricately tied pepper strings are everywhere in New Mexico. This particular one was an unusual mix of different colors of peppers. I mixed stains and oxides directly into 6 small batches of clay, forming each differently colored pepper.
